May 22, Last "One Last Merry Go Round" fundraiser, Hayrides at the carousel, Car Wash to Blue Owl.

May 29, GRAND OPENING ... 10:00 a.m., speeches, first ride, carousel will be open for business!

February 1 is the deadline for Community Champions nominations! Send your nominations for the categories of Arts & Entertainment, Community Service, Education, Youth, Business and Non-Profit Group to bhz@themountainear.com. Include your name and contact information and the nominee's name and contact info, category, and a statement as to why this person is being nominated.

Kick off the winter holiday season on December 12th at the Trackside Tavern at the historic Stage Stop Inn in Rollinsville, with a stellar lineup that includes Elephant Revival, the legendary Vince Herman, and Jon "Black Dog" Ridnell, in a benefit for NEDSK8. Help NEDSK8 continue its exciting work of building recreational facilities in the Nederland area. Concert begins at 9:00pm. Cover is $20.

Noted Boulder peace activist will share his experiences in Gaza. In July Dan traveled with Viva Palestina bringing medical supplies to alleviate suffering caused by the Israeli attack and the embargo of the Palestinian people. Please join us for soup and bread at 6:00 and the presentation at 7:00.  NEDERLAND BEST WESTERN LODGE

Just a reminder that this upcoming Sunday, November 8th, is the family friendly event at the Carousel of Happiness building... see the top of the carousel, assembled and in place, hear Jaden Carlson and other young musicians, kid's crafts, refreshments, photo opportunities in the "Fairy Grotto", meet the carousel fairies who are up for adoption... from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you!

The Mountain Forum for Peace invites you to attend an exhibition of children's art to benefit the Burmese orphans of Cyclone Narghis. Come see the moving art and photographs of these young survivors and help us ensure that they can continue school instead of losing their childhood to hard labor just to survive. Donation: $20.00. Wine & Cheese refreshments. Saturday, October 24th from 3 to 6 at Studio Darshan located at 188 East Street in Nederland. For tickets call 303 582 5724.

The Carousel of Happiness board is pleased to announce that we have received an Addison mini-grant through the Boulder County Arts Alliance and the Addison family... the grant is for $500 that will finance a community art effort known as the "Carousel Fairy Project." Over 45 local people of all ages have expressed interest in making fairies for the project which, upon completion, will be up for adoption at $200 a piece to help complete the carousel building. The fairies will be placed strategically throughout the carousel building...

A regular schedule of Fairy Workshops will shortly be announced now that we have the funding to go forward with this project. Much gratitude to the Addison family and the BCAA!

Sunday, August 9th, at 2:00 p.m. -- a special matinee of the new Harry Potter movie... all door proceeds will benefit the Carousel of Happiness!
